I decided for April fool's day to share the meaning of the Fools Card in the Tarot card deck.  I have always like this card because to me it's lighthearted and fun.

The Fool's card represents the child within us... new beginnings, being free of judgment of others and a playful, joyful, lightheartedness. Isn't that great!! The fool goes his merry way in life without expectations and shows us we can enter into a new area of our lives with an innocence, but don't be "fooled" this happy energy is a good thing and we don't always have to be so serious about all situations in our lives. It's healthy to laugh and let things flow for the higher good.

We've all had past experiences and memories that hold us back from time to time, when we want to do something fun and a bit different. We may need to let go and let the fool remind us that it can be refreshing to do something new and that its ok to enjoy it and have fun. We are often too hard on ourselves and the fool is right there dancing in our faces saying, "life can be fun too, you just have to loosen up!"

There is a time and place for everything and on this day, it's just a little reminder to laugh and that the dance of life can be light. Life doesn't have to be complicated, and if it seems so, we must learn to slow it down, live it to the fullest, enjoy, quiet it when we need quiet, dance when we feel the need to dance and feel the magic that life has to offer.

Without this duality in life of folly and responsibility, we would suffer from being unbalanced. Take the first day of April to remember to laugh, to soar, to look at life from a different angle and smile at the choices we have and feel the blessings. Don't be afraid to share in the fool's dance now and then and let the fool show us how it's done.
